Contact Build capability here Some of the great teams we have worked with About Loretta Mitchell Director & Principal Consultant How could we not know this in organisations? The story of why brain science led to an on-the-spot decision to change my career. Several years ago I was researching concepts for a new development program when I came across the neuroscience of leadership, learning and performance. I knew immediately that it had the potential to change workplaces for the better. It brought together everything I believed in about creating positive work environments where organisations AND their people can thrive. The difference was that neuroscience finally provided the evidence-based knowledge and skills to make it a reality. Why was this application of neuroscience not well known in organisations? I made an on-the-spot decision to change that. Building expertise in applied neuroscience took time - completing accreditations and spending thousands of hours reading and learning. My career in National People & Culture and Learning & Development roles provided the all-important operational understanding of how the science could be applied with greatest effect. I started small, sharing concepts 1:1 in over 1000 coaching sessions. Participants talked about how it changed their whole way of working, leading and interacting in their workplace and the difference they saw in their team's engagement. I was impatient to share the concepts more widely, so I designed workshops (and now video-based programs) to teach the skills to apply neuroscience to team collaboration, adaptation performance, wellbeing, leadership, psychosocial safety and learning design and delivery. Along with speaking at conferences and team days, I deliver these programs to clients large and small, government and corporate, profit and for-purpose. The audiences have grown, I have grown, and neuroscience findings just keep growing... and we're far from done yet! Our world needs workplaces where people feel engaged, purpose-driven and included. Our brains are wired for this, and we are happier, healthier and more productive when we experience it. This positivity flows over to our personal lives and our communities and I believe our world needs more of this right now. Be part of the movement to create more positive work environments - join me in making a difference!
